Vol. 14: The Old Blue Island (IL) Cemetery 1867-1935

  

The Blue Island Cemetery once stood in the area now known as Memorial Park.  A plan for a new park included the grounds of the old cemetery so arrangements were made to remove the bodies.  There are no known existing records for the cemetery.

The history of the cemetery has been compiled from articles found in old newspapers and published histories.  The names of those buried here had been forgotten until now.

Vol. 15:  First Lutheran Cemetery - Blue Island, IL.
This active cemetery located in Alsip had its first burial in 1858.  Records began in the 1930s.  The cemetery has ties to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Blue Island.
