DYMSKI/DAYS: My paternal grandfather was of Russian descent. According to the information I have, he was Joseph DAYS (or Jozef). I am unsure of the spelling of the last name, but perhaps someone in Russian linguistics might help. At some time, the name was changed and his son, Albert (my father) and daughter, Evelyn, went under the name DYMSKI.

My Aunt Evelyn was born 6-22-22 in Chicago. Do you have any advice in hunting down information? I live on Long Island and would be willing to contribute to research time. If anyone could check census records, etc., I would be most appreciative. Joseph married or "lived with" Anna ANTCZAK (maiden name). She was my paternal grandmother, born July, 1891. Again, many thanks.

POTENZA: We received the following query written in Italian. We translated it to English using the Babel Fish website.

 Potenza( Italy),15 novembre 2003

Gentilissimi Signori,
Attendo fiducioso notizie in merito. Ringrazio ed invio molti distinti saluti.
                                                                                                          ing.Michele POTENZA

Potenza (Italy), 15 November 2003 Kindest Gentleman, I write in my language of origin, why I know English a lot poco.  My question: the grandfather has lived in Chicago Illinois-Cook Country from 1922 to 1949, when that is it is returned definitively to PIETRAGALLA (South Italy), where has passed serenely its old age until to 1965. This my ancestors has been occupied, uninterruptedly, for 27 years near the company NICKEL PLATE ROAD and has lived free of charge in some premises of the station of PEACE PIPE YARD, hour not more existing in how much absorbed from the expansion urban planning of the city of Chicago. I would be pleasing a lot if some photographs of PEACE PIPE YARD could supply me, of which my grandfather it has many times to me told, where it carried out the duty before Lamperman and then of Trackman.
